Aiman-Smith’s expertise and research agenda is focused on organizational behavior, leadership, culture, and the management of technology. Prior to completing her doctorate, she was a plant manager at Raychem. Aiman-Smith stays current with corporate issues through her consulting and executive education activities with many companies, including Air Products, Alcan Pharmaceutical Packaging, Cisco, Milliken Chemicals, and Red Hat.

Before entering academia, Henard worked for the Oscar Mayer and Kraft Foods USA divisions of Philip Morris Companies (Altria), where he held several sales and marketing positions. Henard has consulted with a number of organizations regarding strategic marketing, communication, and sales force issues.

Favre is highly experienced in teaching and consulting in a variety of business and supply chain content areas. His clients included ExxonMobil, ChevronTexaco, Shell, Citgo, Chevron, BC Hydro, Dynegy, Pepsi, Nestle, Polaroid, United Technologies, Caterpillar, Stanley Works, Deutsche Bank, State of Florida, UPS, Levi Strauss, Saks Fifth Avenue, Best Buy, Sequa, Scholastic, Corning, and SAS. He has an MBA and ABD (All But Dissertation) in the Operations Management Ph.D. program at The Ohio State University.

His particular areas of interest are operations and supply chain strategy and information systems. Bozarth’s consulting experience includes working with companies such as ABB, Bayer Biological Products, BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina, Daimler-Benz, John Deere, Duke Energy, Ford Motor Company, GKN, IBM and many others.

Kouri works closely with the Center for Innovation Management Studies (CIMS) and Executive Programs in the Poole College of Management to provide a unique education, outreach and research platform for Jenkins MBA students, other business schools, and bioscience companies.

Previously, Kouri was the Entrepreneur-In-Residence at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He also has held academic positions at the University of Connecticut, Yale University and the University of Maryland. Kouri has co-founded 11 companies in the biotechnology space. He received his bachelor’s degree in microbiology from The Ohio State University, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in radiation biology from the University of Tennessee. He was a fellow at Hoffman-LaRoche Pharmaceuticals, and is the author of 103 publications, 62 abstracts, and four books, and holds six patents.

Previously, he served as senior vice president of Pharmaceutical Operations and Technology at Biogen Idec. He received his Ph.D. in medical laboratory sciences-immunology from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass.

He currently is an advisor to the Technology Commercialization Clinic, which is an outreach activity of the Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization (TEC) program. The TEC curriculum was developed for the entrepreneurship and technology commercialization concentration in the NC State Jenkins MBA program and now is taught at several universities in the U.S. and other countries.

Previously, Markham co-founded LipoMed, Inc., a biomedical company that uses NMR spectroscopy for lipoprotein analysis. He was also instrumental in the founding of LIPSinc, an animation software company that uses digital signal processing to automate lip synchronization, and Kyma, a material science company. Markham’s research focuses on the roles individuals play in developing and implementing high technology. He has published and presented widely in this field. He holds an MBA from the University of California-Irvine, and his doctorate from Purdue University in organizational behavior and human resource management.

He currently serves as both an Executive in Residence and a lecturer, working with Poole College’s BioSciences Management Initiative and the biosciences concentration in the NC State Jenkins MBA program, and the college’s Supply Chain Resource Cooperative. Straight has his bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University in organic chemistry and his MBA from New York University in manufacturing.

Steve Schanz joined the NC State Poole College of Management faculty in 2006, focusing his research in the areas of intellectual property and biopharmaceutical law. He teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in the areas of technology, law and the internet. His prior teaching experience include graduate and undergraduate law and health policy courses at Pfeiffer University and East Carolina University School of Medicine. He also was the owner of Legamed, Inc., serving as editor of the company’s specialized legal and medical books and periodicals which focused on the emerging areas of telemedicine, telehealth and e-health. Schanz has his law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law, and his master of laws degree from Loyola University School of Law-Chicago.
