University Facilities is a professional service organization committed to supporting Clemson University’s 2020 Forward Strategic Plan.  We provide the necessary services to maintain the University buildings and grounds in an attractive, safe, and energy efficient condition.  Our goal is to maintain the campus to the high standard exemplified by the Clemson tradition of excellence.  An attractive campus and clean buildings in a good state of repair are essential to providing an effective learning environment for our faculty and students.

The Scope of Our Mission

Through the efforts of approximately 300 dedicated employees the department maintains over 500 acres of improved grounds and approximately 4.2 million square feet of E&G building area.   We provide project management for all University constituents including PSA.   The department operates and maintains the University’s major utility systems including electrical, street lighting, steam distribution, central steam plant, chilled water plants, waste water treatment plant, potable water distribution and the storm water system.  The department is responsible for project development and execution, custodial services, recycling, building and grounds maintenance and utility services.  Our dedicated custodians, landscaping staff, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, HVAC mechanics, painters, utilities service workers, storeroom workers, engineers, project managers, clerical, administrative and management staff are here to support you in your day-to-day activities.

The purpose of this web site is to inform the University community about our organization, provide access to the services we offer, and share the policies that govern facilities design, construction, and operation.   We hope that you will find it informative and useful.
