Professional Development Opportunities

A professional development component is built into the Full-time MBA Program curriculum and includes public speaking and presentation skills, career planning, interviewing skills, résumé clinics, business etiquette luncheons, team building and leadership assessment and development.

MBA Case Competitions

You have the opportunity to gain enriching professional experience and exposure by competing with some of the best business schools in the world, in both local and international MBA Case Competitions.


You are encouraged to earn (elective) credit by participating in paid summer internships with national and multinational firms, as well as larger nonprofit organizations headquartered in our region.

Shadowing and Mentorships

You are paired with mentors from the business community who become a source of career advice and connections throughout the program and beyond.

Other Career and Networking Events

From on-campus company information sessions to MBA career fairs, guest speakers, industry conferences and alumni panels, we provide you with ample opportunities to meet and network with business leaders from a wide variety of organizations.

International Experiences

Our Global Management Center provides you with numerous opportunities for exposure to the global business environment, including an international lecture series, international education-abroad trips and international case competitions.

Entrepreneurial Experiences

Our Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation offers experiential learning opportunities through the John S. Brinzo Entrepreneurship Laboratory and business plan competitions.

Graduate Assistantships

Applicants with excellent grades and GMAT scores are encouraged to apply for graduate assistantships, which are highly competitive and awarded based on academic merit. Graduate assistantships consist of a tuition waiver plus a monetary stipend in exchange for work done in the College of Business Administration or in other units within the university.

Admissions and Deadlines

Admission into the Full-time MBA program is for fall semester only and is highly competitive. Since we limit our entering class size, applying early and GMAT preparatory workshops are highly recommended.

Kent State University will be offering 2 four-week long, noncredit GMAT preparatory workshops. In each workshop you will have many opportunities to take practice tests, measure your progress, learn the reasoning behind the questions and gain confidence as you prepare for the GMAT.
