With the goal of advancing research in open-ocean current and thermal energy production systems, Florida Atlantic University's Center for Ocean Energy Technology is building the capability, infrastructure, expertise and strategic partnerships needed to develop, test and deploy commercially-viable ocean energy systems to assist the nation in managing its energy crisis with the development of an environmentally responsible commercial marine energy industry.
As of July 29, 2010, the US Department of Energy has designated COET as the Southeast National Marine Renewable Energy Center (SNMREC). Read more about the designation here. Our web presence redevelopment efforts will incorporate this new and exciting identity.
