Mission Statement
The Southern Academy for Literary Arts and Scholarly Research, located on the Clarkston campus of Georgia Perimeter College, serves to coordinate the visiting writers series, the college-wide reading program (GPC Reads), lectures and appearances by GPC writers (GPC Writes), co-curricular creative writing programs, and the literary publications board, including The Chattahoochee Review, Creative License, The Polishing Cloth, Sinescope, and Copia.
The Southern Academy also provides writers’ fellowships to faculty for book-length manuscripts of publishable quality and promotes literary excellence through civic engagement, service learning, and community partnerships.
