Catalog Description
This course provides intensive training and accurate expression in both the spoken and the written language, based on a grammar review and vocabulary acquisition.

Expected Educational Results
By the end of the semester the student should be able to:
A. Illustrate a more sophisticated command of spoken Spanish by participating in classroom discussions. This competency to be demonstrated by brief discussions in Spanish between two or more students or between student and instructor on topics covered in the course material.
B. Demonstrate a command of vocabulary, by oral and written use of such vocabulary, in classroom discussions and written work.
C. Demonstrate a growing knowledge of cultural manifestations of daily living found in Hispanic countries by being able to express their opinions orally or in writing.
D. Demonstrate a command of the Spanish language by being able to accurately understand oral and written information presented and being able to disseminate it for daily use.
E. Demonstrate a fluency and pronunciation superior to the elementary courses, by being able to do oral presentations and classroom conversations regarding the topics covered.
F. Expand on the structure of the Spanish language by reviewing grammatical concepts demonstrated in the student's written and oral work.

The Foreign Language Department will ensure course content integrity through the use of common final exams for all sections taught in the college. The final exam will be put together from exams recommended by the textbook publishers of the text being used and/or the full-time Spanish faculty.
