Drama 1601 (Introduction to Theater)
The course is a survey of theater from fifth century BCE Greece through the twentieth century.  The history, playwrights, literature, and styles of the major periods of theater are included.  Various aspects of play prodution and the importance of theater as an art form and cultural force are treated.

Drama 1603 (Introduction to Acting)
The fundamentals of acting technique are introduced, including an actor's approach to a role, pantomime, and improvisation.  Assignments include preparation of scenes from plays.  This is a lecture-laboratory course.
