How to Apply for Financial Aid

Completing the FAFSA

1. To apply for financial aid you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for federal, state, some Georgia Perimeter Scholarships, as well as outside scholarships.  Do this right away: your financial aid cannot be processed until this step is complete.

2. Complete the FAFSA even if you or your parents think you will not qualify for federal aid.  You may be eligible for aid from other sources.

3. It is faster and easier to apply online.  You can download an instructional worksheet to help you complete your FAFSA online.  Be sure to print a copy for your records.

These worksheets and forms are also available at the GPC Financial Aid offices on the Alpharetta Center,   Clarkston, Decatur, Dunwoody, and Newton campuses.

4. When you complete the FAFSA, be sure to list Georgia Perimeter College, the school code (001562), and the address below:

555 North Indian Creek Drive
Clarkston, GA 30021-2361

*Please make sure you list Georgia Perimeter College’s school code – 001562 - on the application so that your FAFSA can be downloaded into our system. Visit the Student Information System on line to check on the status of your application at least two weeks after applying for financial aid. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL registration to check on your financial aid status.
