GPC Reflections: 40 Years of Social Change in Gwinnett
(12:00 noon - 1: 30 p.m. - Atrium, B building)
Commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King's Nobel Peace Prize winning speech of 1964, "I Have a Dream" by Rev. Eddie Tomlinson, Jr. The speech will be followed by an overview of civil rights in 1964 presented by Rev. Herman "Skip" Mason, Jr., noted author and historian. Afterwards a panel discussion, moderated by Mr. J. K. Murphy, editor of the Gwinnett Daily Post. Panel participants are: Ms. Ellen Gerstein, Executive Director of the Gwinnett Coalition of Health and Human Services; Rev. John Stewart, Jr., President of the NAACP Gwinnett County Branch; Mr. Jose Perez, President, Target Market Trends and member of the Georgia State Board of Education; Mr. Jim Maran, President and CEO of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Sam Lim, V.P. and General Manager of Subscriber Networks, Scientific-Atlanta. Refreshments will follow.
