Greg Owen graduated from Clarkston High School in 1993, and while there served as president of Jr. NAD (National Association of the Deaf) from 1992-93. Greg’s mother, also an educator, learned to sign to communicate with he and his Deaf sister while they were growing up. Greg has a BS in Deaf Education from Jacksonville State University, and a master’s degree in Deaf Education from Valdosta State University. Greg taught Deaf students for 12 years at Berkmar High School in Gwinnett County, and currently teaches high school Language Arts at the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf.
Greg has a Deaf wife and three hearing children. His sister’s husband is also Deaf. Greg has, so far, taught ASL I at GPC.
