What Tests Do I Need to Take?

Math Testing

You can use your scores on the SAT Math test or the ACT Math test  for placement into math classes at Georgia Perimeter College.

If you score 440 or above on the SAT Math test or 18 or above on the ACT Math test you are eligible to take MATH 1101 (Math Modeling) and/or MATH 1111 (College Algebra).

If you want to take a higher level math class you must take the COMPASS test (math portion only).

Dual Enrollment students do NOT take English or reading placement tests.

The cost of the test is $20. You may call the testing center of your choice to obtain the testing schedule.

Campus Testing Centers:

AP Calculus test scores can also be used for math placement. AP test scores must be sent directly to GPC from College Board.

Placement in Language Classes

Placement in foreign language courses is made in consultation with the foreign language department.

If you're interested in Spanish classes, take the online placement test, before calling the foreign language department.
