How Does my Child Apply?

Your child must fill-out a Georgia Perimeter College application online. There is a $20 application fee. Your child must ask his or her counselor to send in a copy of his or her official transcript to GPC. You must also sign a Parental Consent Form for your child.

Deadlines for applying to GPC are
• July 1 for the fall semester
• November 1 for the spring semester
• and April 1 for the summer semester

Your child’s official SAT or ACT score must go directly to GPC, too. The college code for the SAT is 5711. The college code for the ACT is 0806.

Your child will need to send a Certificate of Immunization to GPC. Georgia’s Board of Regents will want your child to be vaccinated for specific illnesses. So, be sure he or she doesn’t wait until the last minute to get this done. You can use GPC’s form, the Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions and Services (GRITS) form, or your doctor's form.

GPC can give your child advanced credit for English 1101. He or she should send us his or her Advanced Placement (AP) Language or Literature scores. He or she can send GPC all of his AP test scores and get credit for other classes, too. View the lowest AP test scores GPC will accept for class credit. The college code for the AP scores is 5711.

If your child was born in another country or went to school there, he or she must talk to GPC’s Office of International Student Admissions and Advising. The offices are on the Clarkston and Dunwoody campuses. He or she can also visit our Enrollment and Registration Services Office in Newton, Alpharetta, or Decatur. They’ll want to see your child’s passport or naturalization papers to be sure he or she is a U.S. citizen. If your child is not a citizen, he or she has to show GPC a paper that indicates what his or her immigration status is in the U.S.
