For Immediate Release
Will voters choose to return President Barack Obama to the Oval Office or will they favor Mitt Romney as the next U.S. president instead? The 2012 presidential vote may be too close to call—unless you’re Alan Abramowitz. The Emory University political science professor has accurately predicted the popular vote for president since 1988 within two percentage points or less.
Abramowitz will be at Georgia Perimeter College, Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 1 p.m. to discuss his predictive model for the popular vote. His talk will be in the Fine Arts Building, Cole Auditorium, on the GPC Clarkston Campus, 555 North Indian Creek Drive, Clarkston. The talk is free and open to the public.
Abramowitz is the author or coauthor of five books, including "Voice of the People: Elections and Voting Behavior in the United States."
His new book on polarization in American politics, “The Polarized Public? Why Our Government is So Dysfunctional,” was published in the spring.
The program also will be available for GPC faculty and students via Wimba. Go to http://gpc.wimba.com/launcher.cgi?room=viape.
