GPC Presents ‘The Fantasticks’ Feb. 1 to 13
Georgia Perimeter College Theatre Arts Guild will present “The Fantasticks,” the longest-running production of any kind in the world. The show is a funny and romantic musical about a boy, a girl, two fathers and a wall. The boy and the girl fall in love, grow apart, and finally find their way back to each other and to their fathers.
The book and lyrics are by Tom Jones; music by Harvey Schmidt. Sally J. Robertson, associate professor in theatre, will direct the GPC production. Patrick Hutchison will direct the music.
“This charming, funny musical is an American classic that speaks to the romantic sides of each of us,” Robertson says. “The music is lovely and I know the audience will be singing it as they leave the theatre.”
The musical will be presented at:
Clarkston Campus: Friday and Saturday, Feb. 1, 2, 8, 9 at 8 p.m.; Sunday, Feb. 3, 10 at 3 p.m. Cole Auditorium, Fine Arts Building. 555 North Indian Creek Drive, Clarkston, 30021.
