There is an intrinsic connection between our financial health and our physical health.  That’s the focus of the unique event “Wallet and Wellness,” on the GPC Newton Campus on Wednesday, April 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  All speakers will be in the GPC Newton Campus auditorium, building N-2. The event is free and open to the public.

The event schedule follows:

10 a.m.-Lorne Sam, ex-NFL player and local fitness trainer will speak about physical fitness and the health costs associated with an unhealthy lifestyle;

11 a.m. - Royce Baker, local financial advisor with the Edward Jones Company will speak about financial health;

12 p.m.-Scott Flowers, an expert on public health, will talk about the costs to society when you don’t protect yourself against illness and injury.

1 p.m.-- Tracy Kuzava, with the Newton Department of Public Health, will talk about positive food choices, and the costs associated with unhealthy eating.  Also speaking at the 1 p.m. session will be  Lee McKinley, GPC interim director of Health Informatics. McKinley talk about the importance of protecting the confidentiality of personal healthcare records.
