Spring 2015 Commencement

Commencement Ceremony

Graduates and candidates participating in the Commencement ceremony will begin lining up by program of study on May 8, 2015 at 8:30 am in the student robing area. Additional instructions will be provided to graduates when they arrive for robing. The ceremony will officially take place in hall C3, however the location of the robing area will be down the hall from the main hall. A map with the detailed locations will be made available closer to commencement.

Graduation Name Card

Graduates and candidates participating in the Commencement ceremony will be given a name card the day of the commencement ceremony that will include all information pertinent to the degree or certificate being received. The name card will be used to announce his/her name at the ceremony.

Those participating in Commencement will receive a diploma cover (not the actual diploma) as he/she walks across the stage at the commencement ceremony. Additionally, since we are preparing to celebrate our 50th graduation at GPC students will also receive a commemorative pin at check in on the day of graduation.

Enrollment and Registration Services offices will notify graduates by GPC email when diplomas are officially mailed out. Since we are now mailing diplomas directly to students it is imperative that we have an accurate mailing address. Please allow sufficient time (approximately 6-8 weeks) for final evaluations, awarding of degrees, diploma ordering and delivery. For diplomas that are returned as undeliverable to GPC we will contact the student to come to a campus for pickup.

Commencement Photographs

A professional photographer will take photos of each commencement participant as he/she receives the diploma cover from Mr. Rob Watts, Interim President of Georgia Perimeter College. Purchase of these photographs is optional and is handled by the photographer directly. If you wish to purchase a photograph, please complete the order form available on the day of commencement in the robing area. Order forms will be collected by the photographer at that time.

Arrangements for Persons with Disabilities

The college will provide interpreter services for the ceremony. Prior notification is required if you have a disability and need assistance at the ceremony. Please contact the Center for Disability Services at (678) 891-3385.
