Is the Regents' Test required at GPC?
No. Effective March 7, 2011, the Regents' Test is not required at GPC.

Georgia Perimeter College has received approval to exempt the Regents’ Test requirement. In its unanimous recommendation, a Board of Regents/USG review panel recognized that GPC has solid assessment methods in place, that GPC's students do well once transferring to research universities, that GPC's Nursing program shows high pass rates, and that GPC provides strong academic support for those students who need help.

This exemption is effective March 7, 2011. The college will not offer the Regents’ Test from this point forward. For most students, this means that once he or she earns a passing grade in English 1101 and English 1102, the basic communication skills required to graduate (which had included passing the Regents’ Test) have been successfully fulfilled.

For those who completed RGTE or RGTR during the first half term, they too only need to pass English 1101 and English 1102 to be exempted.
