Question
Why do you charge the student's credit card if he/she returns the book just a few days late?
Answer
If the book is not returned by the rental check-in date (shown on the receipt), the credit card used as collateral will be charged the non-return price as well as the non-return processing fees. A sticker is affixed to all rented books and reminder emails is sent at the end of the term to encourage the student to bring back the rented book by the required return date. This process is necessary to ensure consumer compliance with the rental terms and helps to offset the cost to recover the asset for use by other students.
