Office of News and Communications
The News & Communications office is the public relations arm of the College of Education, providing the following services:
- News and media relations
- Publications & graphic design (for faculty and staff)
- General Usage Guidelines on UF Identity Signature (Logo) System
- Constituency/stakeholder communications
- Public relations programming
- Alumni affairs and development support
- Issues and crisis anticipation and response
As part of a public, tax-supported university, we are committed to keeping key stakeholders and the public-at-large informed about the College’s activities, programs and policies. We therefore strive to meet the following charges as our mission:
- To foster effective two-way communication between the College and all major stakeholders;
- To support the teaching, research, scholarship and service missions of the College with superior publication and graphic-design services;
- To position the UF College of Education as Florida’s preeminent education college and as one of the top-tier education colleges in the nation.
- To serve as a liaison between the College and all public news media in a professional and mutually beneficial manner that:
- fosters fair, accurate and widespread media coverage of newsworthy faculty achievements, programs and activities, and of any issues or crises involving the College and its faculty or students;
- ensures reasonable accessibility of faculty and staff to media requests for interviews and information;
- prepares College faculty as effective, media-savvy spokespersons for the College and their programs, to the benefit of both the College and the media.
