The Atwood Machine lab is one in which students have the opportunity to exercise some creativity in the setup. The task is made more difficult by the need to hang almost five pounds from the pulleys, to fall freely. Students have not disappointed; they continue to find new and interesting ways to make it work. A few are shown below.
