There are four physics lab courses offered at GPC, two with the algebra-based course (1111L and 1112L) and two with the calculus-based course (2211L and 2212L). Click on the links below to view the list of experiments available for each course. The list also contains links to general descriptions of each lab and links to java applets that students will find useful in preparing for labs.

Students in 2211L and 2212L are required to perform appropriate error analysis in all lab reports. Click on this link to view a short discussion of error analysis and propagation.
There is an assignment based on this information. Click on this link to view the base assignment. The rest of the assignment will be handed out in class.
Students in all physics labs are required to graph experimental data. The former text for 1111L and 1112L contains excellent guidance on how to produce acceptable graphs.
Students in 2212L are required to graph experimental data on semilog paper.
Click on this link to view a PDF document that leads you through the use of semilog paper step by step.
Students in all labs will need to use linear interpolation to determine temperatures in several experiments. Click on this link for some brief instructions on how to do linear interpolation.
Physics makes extensive use of Greek symbols. Click on this link to view the Greek alphabet.
Click on this link to view a page of links (most of which work) to Excel tutorials.
