The UAB Liver Center commuity education series will present “Fatty Liver Disease in Kids” on Thursday March 3, 2011 at 6:00pm in the Fultondale First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall and on Thursday March 24, 2011 at 6:00pm in the Baptist Church at McAdory Fellowship Hall.

About Fatty Liver Disease in Kids
With at least 12 million children in the United States currently overweight, and the prevalence of obesity has doubled for children 2-5 and tripled for children 6-9, fatty liver disease has become a major health concern for obese children in the United States.  Current estimates show that 15% or more of obese children suffer from fatty liver disease.  Alabama is currently ranked 6th the US for overweight and obese children.
