Breakout sessions will allow experts and practitioners to share their experiences on certain subjects. Also, each session will feature the presentation of select best practices as found in the compendium. The breakout sessions are expected to take place in two sets on Monday, 16 June 2008

A. Building Confidence, Competence and Leadership Skills through Community Action: Mentoring, Counselling, Volunteering, and Outreach
Building the esteem of the individual and nurturing group evolution and solidarity with positive outcomes for communities
B. Curricular and Extracurricular Educational Approaches
Fostering critical thinking skills; providing open schools, recreational and emotional support and after-school programs; reaching the unreached: volunteer programs, civic opportunities, skills building
C. Employability and Job Skills
Increasing competence and skill sets through technical, vocational or other job training

D. Technology and Connectedness: Promoting Life and Social Skills, Networking and Knowledge-sharing
E. Information and Media
Creative programs by new and traditional media that induce youth to think critically about intolerant and violent media messages
F. Youth Development Perspectives – Community Impact
Exploring how different age groups and genders are influenced and how to effectively reach out to them and how they interact with older generations
