At Troy University, there is a clear and appropriate distinction, both in written policy and in operational practice, between the policy-making activities of the Board of Trustees and the activities of the University’s administration and faculty to implement those policies.

Functionally, the University’s senior vice chancellors serve as a coordinating council overseeing the administrative and academic communications among the divisions of the University. These positions manage the day-to-day operations of the University with the assistance of a wide variety of supporting administrators. General administrative coordination for the University is provided by the Chancellor’s Cabinet that advises the Chancellor on all matters pertaining to the University, and the Academic Steering Committee that advises the Executive Vice Chancellor/Provost on matters of academic administration, planning and evaluation. Members of the Academic Steering Committee include the associate provosts, the college deans and the campus vice chancellors.
The Faculty Council is a formal body that provides collective input on appropriate faculty issues at the University. Academic coordination is provided by the Graduate Academic Council, which advises the Executive Vice Chancellor/Provost concerning all phases of the graduate program, and the Undergraduate Academic Council which advises the Executive Vice Chancellor/Provost on the undergraduate academic programs. Additionally, there are numerous University Standing Committees that help implement policy and give counsel in University matters.
Troy University is in compliance with this Comprehensive Standard.
