Northeastern University College of Engineering

DEGREE PROGRAMS

All engineering students take a common first-year curriculum and do not commit to a major until the end of the freshman year.  The College of Engineering departments offer the following undergraduate majors and dual majors:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electrical & Computer Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering & Physics
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

The standard and most popular program spans five years with three six-month co-op periods and culminates with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a specific engineering major. Other programs include a four-year BS and a five-year combined BS/Master of Science. These programs are completed with fewer co-op periods.

Many students also complete a minor in disciplines such as Business, Computer Science, and Biomedical Engineering.  In many cases, a student can earn a minor without course overloading.
