What is the Basic Skills Assessment?
To increase the likelihood of student success, Heartland Community College uses a mandatory assessment of basic skills for new students. The Basic Skills Assessment is a collection of placement tests in writing, mathematics and reading to help determine what classes will be appropriate for you. Assessment is required before meeting with an academic advisor.
