Teaching and Research Opportunities for Doctoral Students
Teaching Opportunities
Most doctoral students in LRSP are Teaching Fellows and teach in the department's writing program. In addition to the customary assignments in College Writing I & II, LRSP Teaching Fellows also teach upper division writing courses such as Advance Business & Professional Writing, Technical Writing, Expository Writing, Argumentative Writing, among others. Advanced students are given preference, but new Fellows with prior experience may teach upper division courses as needed.
Non-Teaching Opportunities
Teaching Fellows may also seek non-teaching assignments that will enhance their professional preparation. Students are selected by faculty mentors; some require formal application and others are offered according to need and interest. Opportunities (and contacts) include:
