Welcome to the English Undergraduate Studies Center homepage. On the left, you will find links to topics of interest to English majors and minors, as well as links to news and announcements.
The deadline for December 2008 graduation application is March 15, 2008.
Major and Minor
Undergraduate students may choose an English major, which is the fourth most popular major in the College of Arts and Sciences. Or they may choose one of two minors: an English minor or a Writing minor.
Awards, Honors, and Publications
Undergraduates in English enjoy many opportunities for recognition of their work:
- Scholarships & Awards
- Sigma Tau Delta (English honorary)
- Luna Negra (student literary journal)
- Peer Tutoring in the Writing Center
Ample options exist for undergraduate research and for writing internships that provide pre-baccalaureate work experience. For creative writers, the Wick Poetry Program supports a prestigious on-campus poets series and many awards and scholarships; the Writing minor allows students to work one on one with an adviser to produce a polished portfolio.
