Our Students

Honors College membership at Kent State University is open to all majors and hosts approximately 1,200 students at the Kent Campus and five Regional Campuses.  Our students are encouraged to be engaged members of the university community through membership and leadership in Honors College and other campus organizations.

Honors Classes

Honors College classes emphasize the intellectual value in the pursuit of knowledge.  Every effort is made to show students the connections between disciplines.  Honors classes are small, taught by carefully chosen faculty, and emphasize students’ active involvement in their learning.  Plentiful opportunities for individual study, including the Senior Honors Thesis/Project give students exciting experiences in following their intellectual curiosity.

Student Support

Academic advising in the Honors College is closely attentive.  It aims to empower students to make informed choices about their education.  An Honors College residence hall, state-of-the-art facilities, experiences including study away opportunities and cultural programming all support bright and motivated students seeking an intellectual home with the larger university.
