Kent State University. The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor beginning August, 2008. The department has specializations in the areas of social psychology, medical/mental health, and inequality (race/ethnicity, class and gender). We seek scholars whose research and teaching interests advance these areas of specialization. Preference will be given to applicants who have a strong interest in teaching sociological theory. A record of publications and/or external funding is important, as is evidence of teaching success or strong teaching potential. The department has both a group processes lab and Survey Research Lab (CATI and web) to facilitate faculty research. The university has generous research and teaching development support programs.
