Kent State University. The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor beginning August, 2008. The department has specializations in the areas of social psychology, medical/mental health, and inequality (race/ethnicity, class and gender). We seek scholars whose research and teaching interests advance these areas of specialization. Preference will be given to applicants who have a strong interest in teaching sociological theory. A record of publications and/or external funding is important, as is evidence of teaching success or strong teaching potential. The department has both a group processes lab and Survey Research Lab (CATI and web) to facilitate faculty research. The university has generous research and teaching development support programs. Our PhD program is offered jointly with the University of Akron. Applications received before Friday, September 28, 2007 will be guaranteed consideration. PhD required at the time of appointment.
