Engineers without Borders
The Northeastern chapter of Engineers Without Borders gives engineering students the opportunity to donate their time and skills to communities around the world. Recent projects include designing water-supply systems in Honduras and Uganda.
Graduate Environmental and Geo-Environmental Society (GEGES)The purpose of the NU GEGES is to improve the quality of the graduate environmental and geo-environmental experience at Northeastern University. Seminars, workshops, field trips, and other events will be organized to introduce and further the knowledge of various topics in environmental and geo-environmental fields. It will provide a forum for networking with graduate students, faculty, professionals and societies in the environmental and geo-environmental fields and leadership to younger students interested in joining the environmental program.
Husky Energy Action Team (HEAT)
The Husky Energy Action Team (HEAT) is a student group working towards environmental sustainability and carbon neutrality at Northeastern University. HEAT is part of Campus Climate Challenge a nationwide coalition of over 500 schools all working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions on their campus. By educating and promoting energy saving practices to the Northeastern community while working alongside the administration, HEAT is creating a greener campus.
NU Stand
NUSTAND brings together students to work toward an end to genocide everywhere. Specifically, NUSTAND works to increase awareness among Northeastern students and the Boston community about the crisis in Darfur, raise funds for relief and protection for victims and the displaced, and advocate for political action in coming up with a sustainable solution to ending genocide.
Progressive Student Alliance (PSA)
The Progressive Student Alliance strives to promote issues of social justice both on Northeastern campus and in the greater community through the use of education, petition, and direct action. E-mail psa@neu.edu.
Vegetarians United (NUVU)
NUVU's mission is to promote knowledge of the vegetarian/vegan lifestyle within the Northeastern community, to build awareness of animal friendly products available to the Northeastern community, promote and network at vegetarian events in the metropolitan Boston area, and to educate the Northeastern community about the ethical, nutritional, environmental, political, and economic benefits associated with a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle.
