The Ex Libris Society is a support organization that provides invaluable assistance to the University Libraries system - Thomas Cooper Library, South Caroliniana Library, Rare Books and Special Collections, South Carolina Political Collections, Music Library, Newsfilm Library, and Elliott White Springs Business Library.

How Can I Join?

Donors who contribute $1000 or more in support of the University Libraries during a given fiscal year (July 1- June 30) qualify for membership in the Ex Libris Society.

Donors may designate their tax-deductible contribution to any of the various funds that benefit the University Libraries such as the ones listed at http://www.sc.edu/library/develop/ce.html.

Donors may wish to consider creating a new fund or endowment for a specific purpose. Endowments can be established with a minimum contribution of $25,000 payable over five years. A fully endowed account will provide a continuous stream of income to support the stated purpose of the fund. The critical support of the Ex Libris Society ensures continuing vitality for the University Libraries.

Participants in the activities of the Ex Libris Society's 2008 dinner meeting on May 8 included, left to right,
featured speaker, Dr. William J. Crowe from the University of Kansas; Mr. Tom McNally, Interim Dean
of the University Libraries; and Mr. Wilmot B. Irvin, President of the Ex Libris Society.
