The scholarship programs listed below are available to new undergraduate students at the University of South Alabama. Funds are depleted early, so students are encouraged to follow the application procedures and deadlines.

Alumni Scholarships
Application procedures for the Bay Area Scholarships, Presidential Scholarships, and the Abraham Mitchell Business Scholarships are:
1. Be a U.S. citizen
2.
Be a 2008 high school graduate
3.
Apply for admission to the University of South Alabama
4. Apply for scholarships by completing the
USA Scholarship Application 5. Request official ACT or SAT scores be mailed to USA Admissions
6. Request an official high school transcript be mailed to Office of USA Admissions (transcript must show grades through the junior year)
7. Complete the above requirements by the December 1st deadline of the senior year for first consideration.
Applications received after the deadline will be considered until all funds are exhausted.

Students must major in the Mitchell College of Business. Preference is given to students from Mobile and Alabama.
Application Procedures for the USA Honors Program are:
1. Apply for admission to the University of South Alabama
2. Request official ACT or SAT scores be mailed to USA Admissions
3. Request an official high school transcript be mailed to USA Admissions (transcript must show grades through the junior year)
4. Be a 2008 high school graduate
5. Complete an Honors Program Application (available by calling the Honors Program Office at 251/461-1637 or visit
www.southalabama.edu/honors)
6. Complete the above procedures by December 14 of the senior year.

Please Note: Because the Honors Program and the Mitchell Business Scholarship are extremely competitive, interested students are encouraged to follow the application procedures for the Presidential Scholarships (note the December 1 deadline). If you are awarded a Presidential Scholarship and subsequently are awarded an Honors or Mitchell scholarship, then your previously awarded USA scholarship will be voided.
Community College Transfer ScholarshipsTransfer students enrolling in the fall or summer semesters will be considered for $1,000 per year awards based on the GPA earned at the two-year institution. To be considered, students must apply for admission to USA and have the official two-year college transcripts mailed to USA Admissions by May 1.
Phi Theta Kappa Transfer ScholarshipsUSA will award four (4) Phi Theta Kappa scholarships per year. Phi Theta Kappa members enrolling in the Fall Semester each year will be considered for $1,500 per year scholarships (two year maximum). Qualifications are based on a minimum grade-point average of 3.70, as computed by the USA Office of Admissions, with thirty (30) or more earned hours at the two-year institution. To be considered, students must apply for admission to USA and have their official college transcripts mailed to USA Admissions by May 1. Phi Theta Kappa members must also submit a letter of nomination from their two-year college PTK counselor with the application for admission. Awards are made in mid-summer.
No scholarship application is required, however, consideration for this award is given to applications received on or before May 1. Non-Institutional Scholarships High school students should investigate scholarship opportunities available in their home community. (Civic and social organizations and companies often offer scholarships to deserving students in the community.) The best source of this information is your high school guidance counselor.
