USA 's Photography Certificate Program teaches the essential skills needed to develop or enhance photography skills. The program provides training in several areas of photography including camera, darkroom, digital photography, photographic styles, understanding of techniques and uses, and lighting.
Photography program photoTo earn a certificate, a student must successfully complete five required courses and any combination of electives equaling 42 hours, with no more than 2 excused absences per class, and portfolio reviewed. The portfolio or exhibit should demonstrate the candidate's technical proficiency and visual creativity. Portfolio requirements will be given to student upon application to the certificate program. Arrangements must be made with the Program Director to register for the portfolio review upon completion of all required and elective coursework. The final project must satisfy an instructor's review committee before the certificate is awarded.
Coursework must be completed within three (3) years. Admission to the university is NOT required for this program. Students working on two or more certificate programs may not apply the same courses to more than one program. Substitutions must be made in order to meet minimum classroom contact hours. Students are under the certificate curriculum in effect at the time of their application into the program until they finish the program. Course changes made after the application DO NOT affect curriculum requirements.
