My research program lies primarily in the area of synthetic organic chemistry. A large component is dedicated toward the development of new methods involving the stereoselective construction of medicinally important compounds. The success of the program is heavily dependent upon the involvement of motivated and talented undergraduate students.
I feel research is a crucial component in the education of all of our students. In addition to my research program, my primary teaching assignments are the two semester sequence of organic chemistry, lecture and lab. Other professional activities include my involvement with the statewide program Science in Motion, Science Olympiad and USA Honors program.
