Alabama Gulf Emergency Medical Services System (AGEMSS)

Overview of AGEMSS  

The Alabama Gulf Emergency Medical Services System (AGEMSS) is a service unit of the Department of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Education at the University of South Alabama.  AGEMSS was awarded a contract by the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) in 2006 to serve as the regional EMS agency for region six.  The primary role of AGEMSS is to facilitate regional EMS system coordination and improvements in pre-hospital emergency medical care within the seven counties that make up ADPH EMS Region Six. These counties are: Baldwin, Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia, Mobile, Monroe and Washington.

Driving Directions  

To reach the USA Brookley campus take Interstate10 (I-10) to exit 23 (Michigan Avenue). Continue south on Michigan Avenue and take the first street to the left, which will be Broad Street. Travel along Broad Street for approximately 6/10 of a mile. At this point, Broad Street swings off to the left, intersected by Old Bay Front Drive. Take Old Bay Front Drive, (within 200 yards Old Bay Front Drive is intersected by Commanders Drive.) The Regional Office is located in Building 2002 which is located on Old Bay Front Drive, down the street from Building 250 – EMT/Paramedic Education Building on the corner of Old Bay Front Drive and Commander’s Drive. Building 2002 is a brown, three story building and entry can be made from either front or back. Take stairs to second floor to office in EMS Administration Office area.
