Dr. Mollie Lewis
Dr. Mollie Lewis -- Assistant Professor of History

A native of Oregon, Professor Lewis received the Ph. D. in history from Emory University in 2008. Her field of specialization is the history of Latin America, and especially Argentina. Fluent in both Spanish and Yiddish, she is completing a book length manuscript on Jewish Life in Buenos Aires from 1905-1930. Professor Lewis' scholarly expertise encompasses immigration history and Jewish history, and her article "Complementary Identities: Sephardim, Zionists, and Argentines in the Interwar Period" will appear in both Spanish and English in a forthcoming issue of Pe'amim. Her teaching responsibilities at USA will include introductory and upper level classes in Latin American history, as well as introductory courses in Western Civilization, and more specialized topical courses.
