The $2,000 scholarship is targeted to nursing students enrolled in at least the sophomore year at an accredited BSN degree program. Each applicant must submit
an application, official transcript, two page statement about their nursing career/journey, resume, and two letters of references. The annual scholarship deadline is April 15.

Margaret S. Odom ScholarshipThe Margaret S. Odom Scholarship is available to students with a desire to work in gerontology and are pursuing a Nursing degree. Applicants must be in their junior year and must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Financial need will be a consideration for all applicants. 2012 Army Nurse Corps Association Scholarship ProgramThe Army Nurse Corps Association (ANCA) is sending this e-mail to remind
you about the Scholarship Program for baccalaureate or higher degree nursing
and anesthesia students. In 2012, ANCA will be selecting up to 15
students to receive $3,000 scholarships.
To be eligible, applicants should meet one of the following criteria:
• Nursing or anesthesia students who plan to enter a component of the US Army and are enrolled in a program not funded by a component of the US Army.
• Nursing or anesthesia students who have previously served in a component of the US Army.
• Army Nurse Corps officers in a component of the US Army enrolled in a baccalaureate or graduate nursing or nurse anesthesia program not funded by a component of the US Army.
• Army enlisted soldiers in a component of the US Army enrolled in a baccalaureate nursing program not funded by a component of the US Army.
• Nursing or anesthesia students whose parent(s), spouse and/or children are or have served in a component of the US Army.

in Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs
CertifiedBackground.com, a leading provider of background checks to health professions students, is partnering with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) to launch a new scholarship program for nursing students in baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral programs. CertifiedBackground.com is committing $200,000 over five years to this new program that will distribute eight scholarships in the amount of $5,000 each year from 2011 through 2015.
To apply for scholarship funding, students must complete an application that requires a brief 250-word essay on their goals and career aspirations in nursing. Winners will be announced within 60 days of each submission deadline, which are set for January 31, April 30, July 31, and October 31 each year. This scholarship is non-recurring and will be awarded to individual students for one semester only. Visit

The Army Nurse Corps Association (ANCA) was founded as the Retired Army
Nurse Corps Association in 1997. Membership is comprised of Army Nurse Corps
officers from the Active Army, Army National Guard, or the Army Reserve.
They may be currently serving, retired or honorably discharged from one of
these components of the US Army. The purpose of the ANCA Memorial Scholarship Program is to award scholarships to students attending accredited baccalaureate or graduate nursing or anesthesia programs.
In 2011, the scholarships will be awarded in memory of the three Army
Nurses who gave their lives at the Fort Hood Readiness Center, TX in November
2009. All three were reservists who had been activated and were being proce
ssed for deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan. LTC Juanita Warman, CPT John
Gaffaney and CPT Russell Seager will be remembered for their dedication
and bravery.
