The Department of Health and Human Services has funded a nearly $900,000 proposal to provide a new BSN to DNP Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) program or BSN to DNP Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program (ACPNP).
Graduates of the ACPNP program will earn a DNP degree and be eligible to sit for the PCNB-ACPNP exam.
The American Association of Colleges of Nursing has set a 2015 date for full implementation of the DNP as the entry level for advanced practice.
