OGA Functions
  • Develop and review agreements on behalf of the institution as the prime recipient and as the partnering agency.
    1. Develop and negotiate agreements promulgated by funded activities.
    2. Work with faculty in developing and/or refining a definitive Scope of Work and Budgets that will be part of the agreements created.
    3. Review and edit the draft agreements as necessary to gain approval of all contract documents received from external agencies for sponsored project.
    4. In collaboration with the legal department, develop modifications to any existing agreements and have these approved by execution of each partnering institutions.
  • Provide in-service training for major projects on forms use, University policies and
    procedures, etc., upon request.
  • Provide special services to key researchers to assist them in managing large "center" compliment of awards (e.g., PI and project employee assignment distributions across multiple accounts.)
  • Arrange for budget modifications.
  • Prepare certain correspondence for project directors to be submitted to university officials and sponsoring agencies.
  • Interface with the university, on an as-needed basis to deal with project legal issues (such as land acquisition, contract clauses, lawsuits, criminal acts, debt collection, etc.)
  • Notify Project Director of technical or any other reports/deliverable requirements under the award.
  • Coordinate updates to Project Administration Guide (PAG) on the web. Distribute PAG hard copies to PI's as needed.
  • Lead training presentations to project groups regarding certain University policies and procedures (for example, "how to read budget reports".)
  • Act as post-award liaison between Project Director and sponsoring agency.
  • Negotiate and prepare requests of extension of termination date and carryover of any unexpended balance.
  • Work with Project Directors regarding problems they are having with subcontracts.
  • Advise Project Directors on technical feasibility of working within the award budget.
  • Maintain a post-award database on sponsored activities for the University community.
