Steps to finding funding:

A. Contact your USA college or academic department to see what USA scholarships may be available. Plan early as scholarship application deadlines are often independent of program applications deadlines.
B. Many study abroad program providers have scholarship programs for applicants / participants on their programs. Check with your program of interest.
C. Contact the USA Financial Aid office to determine your eligibility and the applicability of any existing USA financial aid.

• ExxonMobil Middle Eastern Scholars Program - for graduate students from the Middle East and North Africa to study in US
• U.S. National Commission for UNESCO Laura W. Bush Traveling Fellowship - for US citizens - enrolled in college to conduct brief work in a foreign country related to the mandate of UNESCO - using education, natural sciences, social and human sciences, culture, and/or communication and information to build strong ties among nations.
• Center for Global Partnership, Japan Foundation - Supports US-Japan collaborative projects from universities and research institutions that encourage policy-oriented research and dialogue on global issues of common concern
• Critical Language Scholarship Program - Languages offered: Arabic, Azerbaijani, Bangla/Bengali, Chinese, Hindi,Korean, Persian, Punjabi, Russian, Turkish, and Urdu. Countries may include: Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, China, Egypt, India, Jordan, Morocco, Oman, Russia, South Korea, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, or others where the target languages are spoken. At the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels (beginning not offered for Azerbaijani, Russian, Chinese or Persian).
• ExxonMobil Middle Eastern Scholars Program - The ExxonMobil Middle Eastern Scholars Program is a highly competitive scholarship program which provides select student leaders from the Middle East and North Africa with a fully-funded scholarship towards the completion of a degree at a college or university in the United States. While the inaugural year of the ExxonMobil Middle Eastern Scholars Program offers scholarship opportunities to pursue a master's degree in geoscience for students who have at least a bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, geography, geoscience, mathematics or physics, future expansion to other fields of study is currently under consideration. • Alliance for Global Education Scholarships for study in China and India
• Inter-American Foundation (IAF) Fellowships for PhD Candidates - a United States government agency that funds the self-help initiatives of the organized poor in Latin America and the Caribbean. IAF Fellowships support dissertation research in Latin America and the Caribbean undertaken by students who have advanced to Ph.D. candidacy in a university in the United States. Fellows must be U.S. citizens or citizens of the independent Latin

• GRADUATE STUDENTS - NSF East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes for U.S. Graduate Students (EAPSI) for graduate students in science and engineering: 1) first-hand research experiences in Australia, China, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore or Taiwan; 2) an introduction to the science, science policy, and scientific infrastructure of the respective location; and 3) an orientation to the society, culture and language.
