Get A Passport
Get A Passport!      

USA encourages all students, faculty, staff and their families to join on this national initiative to encourage US citizens to get a passport and travel/study abroad. Get your passport and open up a lifetime of adventure and possibilities!

How many US citizens have a passport? at least 16,000,000 were issued in 2008-2009 and less than 128,000 were issued for applications from Alabama. Published estimates range from between 7% and 20% of US citizens have a passport, whereas various sources report that for citizens of Germany, it's 90%; of Canada it's 40%, and of Great Britain it's 64%.

NOT a US Citizen? Check with your home country embassy or consulate for instructions regarding your passport. All US LEGAL PERMANENT RESIDENTS must have a valid passport for their country of citizenship. If you need a US TRAVEL DOCUMENT please go to the USCIS web site.

NOTE: All passports must be valid for at least 6 months PAST the last day you will be abroad. Airlines, immigration authorities may deny you passage if your passport expires earlier.
