How to Log In

You must supply a username and a password to log in to Blackboard.

Username
Your Blackboard Username and your Trojan Web Express User Name ARE THE SAME.

Password
Your password for Blackboard will always be the last four digits of your Social Security Number. HOWEVER, an international student's password is set initially to a combination of the student's day of birth and month of birth. For example, if the student's birthday is June 5 the password would be set to 0605.

PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE YOUR BLACKBOARD PASSWORD.

How to Update Your Personal Information

If you need to change your e-mail address within Blackboard, or update any other personal information in your Blackboard student profile you should:

  1. Log in to Blackboard.
  2. Click on the "Personal Information" link within the User Tools box on the left-hand side.
  3. Click on "Edit Personal Information" then proceed with making any necessary changes to your personal profile.
  4. After completing your changes, be certain to click the "Submit" button located in the bottom, right-hand corner. If you fail to click the "Submit" button, your changes will not be saved.
  5. Log out of Blackboard, or proceed with your online course.

If you are experiencing technical problems within Blackboard, such as problems with the chat utility, attachments, or other technical problems, please call the 24/7 Blackboard Technical Support line, toll-free, 1-800-414-5756 or simply email ask@troy.edu. You may also call 334-808-6202 for additional support between the hours of 8:00 A.M. & 5:00 P.M. Central Time. What is Blackboard .

By contacting Blackboard at the time the problem occurs, the Blackboard technicians are better able to diagnose the problem. Please be prepared to provide any error messages that you might be receiving (if applicable).

Blackboard Double-Login Issue

To access the Blackboard Web site, please bookmark the Troy University home page or the Troy University eCampus Web site, then click on the link for Blackboard. This will ensure that you are activating a new, secure session with the Blackboard server. If you bookmark the login page, the page will be retrieved from your computer's memory, and will not launch a new session with Blackboard. This will result in having to enter the login information twice to gain successful entry to Blackboard.
