Tom Davis
Director of University Relations
Tom Davis, a member of the Troy University class of 1981, has worked in the Office of University Relations at his alma mater since 1998. A native of Langdale, Alabama, Davis spent 16 years in journalism following his graduation from Troy University. He worked in news management positions at the Eufaula (Alabama) Tribune and The Bainbridge (Georgia) Post-Searchlight. He also was a reporter for the Southern Star in Ozark, Alabama and The Montgomery Advertiser. During his newspaper career, Davis received awards for newswriting, editorial writing, page design and photography. Davis also served as editor of The National Journalism Center, a non-profit foundation in Washington, DC, for three years. He's married to the former Deborah Strickland of Russellville, Alabama, and is a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Troy. He was chosen as alumnus of the year for print journalism in 1994 by the Journalism Alumni Association of the Hall School of Journalism.
