The Department offers basic courses in four languages: Spanish, French, German, and Italian, in addition to courses in Latin, linguistics, and language methodology. Students who have demonstrated aptitude and performance in languages may elect a major in Spanish and French. Minors are also offered in these languages, and in German.

In conjunction with the Boivin Center for French Language and Culture and the College of Business, the Department offers a Certificate in International Business/French.

In conjunction with the Charlton College of Business, and the German universities in the States of Hessen and Baden-Württemberg, the Department participates in the Certificate in International Business with overseas experiences in Germany.
