Minors in Business
The following minors in business are designed to provide an opportunity for both non-business and business students to supplement their own area of expertise:
- Accounting
- Finance
- General Business Administration (for non-business majors only)
- Human Resource Management
- International Business
- Management of Information Systems
- Marketing
- Operations Management
In adding a minor to their course of study, students can open both career and educational opportunities. For example, non business students who may in the future enter a Masters of Business Administration program could satisfy part of the foundation requirements with business courses included in the minor. Business minors may make the non-business student more prepared and marketable in a particular career path. For business students, one of the minors can similarly broaden career opportunities and enable them to explore areas of future interest.
Admission to the Minor
Application for admission should be made to the Minor Coordinator. Admission to any of the minors is on a competitive basis. For both business and non-business students admission to a minor requires an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher and good academic standing in one’s major.
