Biography:

Dr. Steven Nardone is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He received the BSEE, MSEE, and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Rhode Island in 1972, 1974, and 1982, respectively.

Dr. Nardone's research interests are in systems theory, control and estimation theory, and fuzzy systems. He has been involved in research and consulting with Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Mitili, General Dynamics/Electric Boat Division, and the Massachusetts Center for Excellence Corporation. He has authored or co-authored several journal/conference papers in the areas of tracking algorithms and applications of evidential reasoning.

From 1974 to 1976 he was employed at ARINC Research Corporation in Annapolis MD. He was a senior research engineer at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI from 1977 to 1984. He has been on the faculty of University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering since 1984.

Dr. Nardone is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi, and Phi Kappa Phi. He has served on several department committees, has chaired the graduate committee and has served as the chairperson of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.
