FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                February 16, 2005
Corsairs' Marc Barron named ECAC Northeast
Goalie of the Week after first career victory in net

(Dartmouth, MA) - UMass Dartmouth senior Marc Barron (Hanover, MA) was named
the ECAC Northeast Goalie of the Week after stopping 17 of 18 shots in a 5-1
non-conference victory over Lebanon Valley College last Saturday.

Barron made his first career start in goal for UMass Dartmouth a memorable one as
he picked up his first career victory.  After giving up a Lebanon Valley goal on the first
shot he faced, Barron turned away the next 17 Flying Dutchmen shots on goal to
preserve the Corsairs' win.  Barron's efforts in goal also helped extend UMass Dartmouth's
consecutive game winning streak to nine straight games.

Barron's selection as ECAC Northeast Goalie of the Week marks the second Corsair
netminder to win the award in as many weeks.  UMass Dartmouth's starting goaltender
Kevin McGowan (Hingham, MA) won the award last week for the second time this season.

UMass Dartmouth will return to action tonight when the Corsairs will be looking for their 10th
straight in an ECAC Northeast game against Nichols College. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
at Hetland Arena.
