5/7/2008 - Two Men's Lacrosse Players Earn All-Conference Honors
Two members of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's lacrosse team have been honored by the Little East Conference. Freshman midfielder Josh Arsenault (Revere, MA/Revere HS) and junior defenseman Tarek Donnelly (Danvers, MA/Danvers HS) have been named second team All-Little East Conference.
5/7/2008 - Three Women's Lacrosse Players Earn All-Conference Honors
Three members of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's lacrosse team have been honored by the Little East Conference. Senior midfielder Marie Spang (Wakefield, MA/Wakefield HS) and freshman defender Larissa Basque (Plainville, MA/King Phillip Regional HS) have been named first team All-Little East Conference, while senior goalkeeper Erin Doherty (West Newbury, MA/Pentucket HS) was named second team All-Conference.
5/6/2008 - Annual Athletic Banquet Recognizes Athletic and Academic Achievements
More than 200 awards for achievement in both academics and intercollegiate athletics were presented at the 42nd annual UMass Dartmouth Athletic Awards Banquet held Monday night, May 5 at White's of Westport.  A record crowd of more than 400 people attended the annual gathering of parents, coaches and student-athletes.
5/5/2008 - Baseball Splits LEC Doubleheader with UMass Boston
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's baseball team split their Little East Conference doubleheader with UMass Boston at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Monday afternoon. UMass Dartmouth won the opener, 16-6, and the Beacons took the nightcap, 5-0.
5/3/2008 - Track Has a Few Good Performances at New England Division III Championships
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's track and field team turned in a few good performances at the New England Division III Championships at the Coast Guard Academy Track Saturday afternoon.
5/1/2008 - Baseball Outslugs Johnson & Wales, 16-11
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's baseball team slammed a season high 22 hits, scored in seven of their nine at-bats and went on to defeat host Johnson & Wales, 16-11, at Pierce Field Thursday afternoon.
5/1/2008 - Women's Lacrosse Falls at Eastern Connecticut in LEC Playoff, 20-3
Host Eastern Connecticut State scored 10 consecutive goals in the first half, built a 13-2 halftime lead and went on to defeat the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's lacrosse team, 20-3, in a Little East Conference semi-final playoff game at the Mansfield Athletic Complex Thursday afternoon.
5/1/2008 - Dan Holbrook Earns ECAC Division III New England First Team All-Star Honors
Senior center Dan Holbrook (Lexington, MA/Lexington HS/Westfield State) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's basketball team has received another prestigious honor. Holbrook has been named a first team Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England All-Star.
4/29/2008 - Women's Lacrosse Downs Western Connecticut in LEC Playoff, 18-10
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's lacrosse team scored nine goals in each half and defeated visiting Western Connecticut State, 18-10, in a first round Little East Conference playoff game at Cressy Field Tuesday evening.
4/29/2008 - Men's Lacrosse Falls to Plymouth State in LEC Playoff, 8-7
John Cogswell scored with 3:12 remaining in the fourth quarter to break a 7-7 tie and propel visiting Plymouth State to an 8-7 victory over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's lacrosse team in a Little East Conference first round playoff match at Cressy Field Tuesday afternoon.
4/29/2008 - Six Hockey Players Earn ECAC All-Academic Honors
Six members of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's hockey team have been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast All-Academic Team for the 2007-08 season.
4/28/2008 - Men's Lacrosse Set to Open LEC Playoffs by Hosting Plymouth State
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's lacrosse team will play a home playoff game for the first time in four years when they host Plymouth State Tuesday afternoon. Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Cressy Field, prior to the women's playoff game against Western Connecticut State.
4/28/2008 - Women's Lacrosse Hosts Western Connecticut in LEC Playoff Opener
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's lacrosse team will open the 2008 Little East Conference playoffs when they host Western Connecticut State Tuesday, April 29th. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at Cressy Field, following the men's lacrosse playoff game against Plymouth State.
4/27/2008 - Women's Lacrosse Falls at Keene State, 19-1
Host Keene State spoiled the final game of the regular season for the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's lacrosse team by defeating them, 19-1, at the Owl Athletic Complex Sunday.
4/27/2008 - Women's Lacrosse Defeats Western Connecticut State, 15-11
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's lacrosse team jumped out to a 7-3 halftime lead and defeated visiting Western Connecticut State, 15-11, in a Little East Conference game at Cressy Field Saturday afternoon.
4/26/2008 - Softball Drops Doubleheader to Western Connecticut State
Western Connecticut State held the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's softball team to one run and eight hits and swept a Little East Conference doubleheader, winning 5-0 and 7-1 at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Saturday afternoon.
4/26/2008 - Golfers Second at Jack Barry Invitational, Tyler Kett is Medalist
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's golf team shot a team score of 302 and finished second at the 18-hole, seven-team Jack Barry Invitational, at the Stow Acres Country Club Saturday. Senior Tyler Kett (Brewster, MA/Harwich HS) made his final match in a UMass Dartmouth uniform a memorable one, finishing in a first-place tie with Lee Bloom of Brandeis at 70, then winning medalist honors with a birdie on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff.
4/26/2008 - Baseball Falls Twice to Eastern Connecticut State
Visiting Eastern Connecticut State had 41 hits and swept a Little East Conference doubleheader from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's baseball team, 28-6 and 11-6, at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Saturday afternoon.
4/26/2008 - Men's Tennis is Fifth at Little East Conference Championships
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's tennis team finished fifth at the two-day, seven-team Little East Conference Championships at the Dr. Henry Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts.
4/26/2008 - Men's Lacrosse Falls at Western Connecticut, 12-5
Western Connecticut State outscored the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's lacrosse team, 11-2, during the final three quarters and defeated the Corsairs, 12-5, in a Little East Conference match at the WestConn Athletic Complex Saturday afternoon.
4/26/2008 - Corsairs Fifth at LEC, 6th, 8th at Alliance Track and Field Championships
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's track and field team had 15 personal bests at the Little East Conference and New England Alliance Championships at Rhode Island College's Black Track Complex. Both teams finished fifth at the six-team Little East Conference Championships, the men with 76 points, and the women with 42. Southern Maine won both titles, their women scoring 199 points and the men scoring 194. The Corsair men were sixth and women eighth in the 12-team New England Alliance final standings. UMass Dartmouth's men scored 56 points, the women 38. Southern Maine won the women's team championship with 174 points, while Westfield State was the men's champion with 145.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's tennis team is in third place after the first day of the two-day Little East Conference Championships at the Dr. Henry Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's golf team shot a team score of 313 and finished third at the 18-hole, seven-team Wildcat Spring Invitational, at the Metacomet Country Club Thursday.
4/25/2008 - Baseball Falls to Roger Williams, 7-4
Visiting Roger Williams scored seven runs on just six hits and defeated the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's baseball team, 7-4, in a non-conference game at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Friday afternoon.
4/24/2008 - Women's Lacrosse Wins at Worcester State, 13-9
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's lacrosse team took a 6-2 halftime lead and defeated host Worcester State, 13-9,  in a non-conference game at Coughlin Memorial Field Thursday evening.
4/24/2008 - Baseball Falls to Bridgewater State, 17-9
Visiting Bridgewater State scored seven runs in the top of the ninth inning to break the game open and defeated the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's baseball team, 17-9, in a non-conference game at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Thursday afternoon.
4/23/2008 - Men's Lacrosse Edged by Mount Ida, 8-7
Mount Ida built an 8-5 lead and held off a late rally to defeat the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's lacrosse team, 8-7, in a non-conference match at Cressy Field Wednesday afternoon.
4/23/2008 - Baseball Falls to Curry at Brockton, 6-4
Curry used a pair of three-run innings to take the lead and held off  the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's baseball team, 6-4, in a non-conference game at Campanelli Stadium Wednesday afternoon.
4/23/2008 - Men's Tennis Bows at Eastern Nazarene, 6-3
Host Eastern Nazarene won all three doubles matches and went on to defeat the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's tennis team, 6-3, in a non-conference match at the Crusader Courts Wednesday afternoon.
4/22/2008 - Women's Lacrosse Falls to Smith, 13-9
Visiting Smith College scored the last three goals in each half and pulled away for a 13-9 victory over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's lacrosse team in a non-conference game at Cressy Field Tuesday evening.
4/22/2008 - Softball Drops Doubleheader at Eastern Connecticut State
Host Eastern Connecticut State held the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's softball team to seven hits and swept a Little East Conference doubleheader, winning 9-0 and 9-1 at Howard Spector Field Tuesday evening.
4/22/2008 - Golf Eighth at Sterling Invitational
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's golf team shot a team score of 337 and finished eighth at the 18-hole, 13-team Sterling Invitational, at the Sterling National Country Club Tuesday.

Visiting Bridgewater State won a close match at number two doubles, then won four of the six singles matches to defeat the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's tennis team, 6-3 , in a Little East Conference match at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Tuesday afternoon.
4/21/2008 - Baseball Falls at Brandeis, 6-0
Freshman right-hander Pat Nicholson combined with two relievers on a four-hit shutout to lead host Brandeis to a  6-0 victory over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's baseball team in a non-conference game at Stein Field on Patriots' Day Monday afternoon.
4/21/2008 - Nearhoof, Doherty Earn Little East Conference Women's Lacrosse Honors
Once again, two members of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's lacrosse team have been honored by the Little East Conference. Senior attacker Susie Nearhoof (Frederick, MD/Thomas Johnson HS/Frederick CC) was named Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while senior goalkeeper Erin Doherty (West Newbury, MA/ Pentucket HS) has been named LEC Defensive Player of the Week. It is the second time this season that Doherty has been so honored.

4/20/2008 - Softball Splits Twinbill Against UMass Boston
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's softball team split a Little East Conference doubleheader with visiting UMass Boston at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Sunday afternoon. The Corsairs won the opener, 6-1, but dropped the nightcap, 9-7.
4/20/2008 - Baseball Drops Doubleheader at Keene State
Host Keene State came from behind to defeat the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's baseball team, 5-4, in the second game of a Little East Conference doubleheader at the Owl Athletic Complex Sunday afternoon. The Owls won the opener, 14-2, and swept the twin bill.

Host Western Connecticut State won four of the six singles matches and came from behind to defeat the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's tennis team, 5-4, in a Little East Conference match at the WestConn Courts Sunday afternoon.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's lacrosse team scored the final six goals of the first half, took a 10-2 halftime lead and defeated host Plymouth State, 15-7, in a Little East Conference game at Arold Field Saturday afternoon.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's tennis team won a Little East Conference match for the first time this season, defeating visiting UMass Boston, 7-2, at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Saturday afternoon.

Junior right-hander Katie O'Neill (Braintree, MA/Fontbonne Academy) pitched a four-hitter in the first game and Curry held off a late rally in the second game as the Colonels swept a non-conference doubleheader from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's softball team, 8-1 and 13-9,  at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Thursday.

The first night game at Cressy Field was an artistic success, as the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's lacrosse team blanked visiting Emerson, 19-0, in a non-conference match Wednesday evening.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's baseball team saw their late rally fall short, and they fell to visiting Johnson & Wales, 5-4, in a non-conference game at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Wednesday afternoon.
4/16/2008 - Hockey's Tyler Crocker Wins J. Thom Lawler Award
For the second time in three seasons, a member of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's hockey team has been to receive a prestigious award. Senior defenseman Tyler Crocker (Wakefield, MA/Wakefield HS) has been named the recipient of the annual J. Thom Lawler Award,  which is presented to an NCAA Division II or III hockey player in New England each season. Senior forward Eric Frank (Waltham, MA/Traverse City Enforcers) of the Corsairs won the award in 2006.
4/15/2008 - Baseball Rallies to Defeat Tufts, 10-9
Sophomore left fielder Tom LaDore's infield hit in the bottom of the eighth inning drove in the winning run as the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's baseball team edged visiting Tufts, 10-9, in a non-conference game at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Tuesday afternoon.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's lacrosse team raced to an 11-2 halftime lead and defeated host Framingham State, 17-3 , in a non-conference game at the Maple Street Field Tuesday afternoon.

Visiting Rhode Island College held the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's softball team to a single run and swept their Little East Conference doubleheader, 8-0 and 5-1, at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Tuesday.
4/15/2008 - Men's Tennis Falls at Rhode Island College, 6-3
Host Rhode Island College won a pair of three-set matches and defeated the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's tennis team, 6-3, in a Little East Conference match at the RIC Tennis Courts Tuesday afternoon.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's baseball team saw their late rally fell short, and they lost to host Babson for the second time in four days, 6-3, in a non-conference game at Govoni Field Monday afternoon.
4/13/2008 - Golf is First at Hampton Inn Collegiate Invitational
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's golf team won their home tournament Sunday, shooting a team score of 318 and finishing two strokes ahead of second-place Nichols at the 18-hole, 14-team Hampton Inn Collegiate Invitational, at the Allendale Country Club. The tournament was shortened to 18 holes after the first day of action was cancelled Saturday due to inclement weather.
4/13/2008 - Softball Splits Little East Conference Doubleheader Against Southern Maine
Junior right-hander Amie Nickerson (Wrentham, MA/King Phillip HS) pitched an eight-hitter as the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's softball team defeated visiting Southern Maine, 5-2, in the first game of a Little East Conference doubleheader at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Sunday. The Huskies earned a split by winning the nightcap, 9-5.
4/12/2008 - Men's Lacrosse Defeats Southern Maine, 14-7
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's lacrosse team took a 5-1 first quarter lead and went on to defeat visiting Southern Maine, 14-7, in a Little East Conference game at rainy Cressy Field Saturday afternoon.
4/12/2008 - Women's Lacrosse Falls in Overtime at Southern Maine
Junior Caitlin Albert (Scarborough, Maine) scored the game-winning goal with 49.4 seconds left in the first sudden death overtime period to give the University of Southern Maine Huskies a 10-9 victory over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Corsairs in a Little East Conference women's lacrosse match Saturday at Hodgdon Field in Gorham.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's track and field team turned in several fine performances before Mother Nature intervened at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Saturday.
4/11/2008 - Cheerleaders Win Fourth National Championship in Nine Years
For the first time since the 2006 season, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's cheerleaders are national champions. The Corsairs finished first at the two-day, All-Girl Division II National Cheerleading Association Championships at the Ocean Center. UMass Dartmouth finished with a score of 8.695, Slippery Rock was second at 8.620, and Valdosta State was third.

Junior shortstop Vicki Andruszkiewicz (Danvers, MA/Danvers HS) drove in a run and threw out a runner at the plate in the seventh and final inning as the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's softball team defeated visiting Framingham State, 2-0, in the nightcap to earn a split of their non-conference doubleheader at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Tuesday. The Rams won the opener, 2-1.

Evan Grogan allowed two runs and three hits in seven innings and host Rhode Island College defeated the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's baseball team, 10-4, in a Little East Conference game at Anchorman Field Tuesday afternoon.

After his performance this weekend, senior Jon Garcia (Stoneham, MA/MA/Stoneham HS) will go down as one of the most decorated student-athletes in University of Massachusetts Dartmouth history. Garcia earned his third NCAA championship and sixth All-America honor when he finished first in the 55 meter hurdles at the NCAA Division III Championships at the Ohio Northern University Sports Center Saturday. He is the first Corsair student-athlete to win three national championships. His six All-America honors ties him with distance runner Jim White, who received his last award in 1986, and diver Tom Egan, who received his final honor in 1992. Both White and Egan won two national titles and received All-American honors six times.

3/1/2008 - Corsairs' Craig Johnson 63rd in 100 Butterfly at ECAC Championships
Freshman Craig Johnson (Acushnet, MA/New Bedford HS) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's swimming team finished 61st in the 100 yard butterfly on the second day of the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships at the University of Pittsburgh's Trees Pool Saturday. Johnson finished with a time of 54.71 seconds.
2/29/2008 - Men's Basketball Holds Off Southern Maine, 75-69, in Little East Semi-Final
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's basketball team broke a 56-56 tie with a 13-3 run midway late in the second half and went on to defeat stubborn Southern Maine, 75-69, in the second semi-final game of the Little East Conference Tournament at the Tripp Athletic Center Friday night.
2/29/2008 - RIC Defeats Keene State, 68-63 in LEC Semi-Final
Rhode Island College junior guard Tirrell Hill (Bronx, N.Y.) scored a game-high 22 points to lead the second-seeded Anchormen to a 68-63 victory over third-seeded Keene State College in the first semifinal of the 2008 Little East Conference Men's Basketball Championship Tournament this evening at the Tripp Athletic Center.

2/28/2008 - Men's Basketball Hosts Little East Conference Final Four
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's basketball team will try to win the Little East Conference post-season tournament and earn the league's automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament when they host the LEC Final Four this weekend. The top-seeded Corsairs will play fourth-seeded Southern Maine in the second game of Friday night's doubleheader at 8:00 p.m. Second-seeded Rhode Island College will meet third-seeded Keene State in Friday night's first game at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at the Tripp Athletic Center. Tickets will be available at the door, and will cost $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students, faculty and staff.

Senior defenseman Jon Finn (Warwick, RI/Boston Harborwolves) scored the game-winning goal in the second period and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's hockey team held on to defeat host Nichols, 3-2, in an Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast game at Jahn Rink Saturday night. The victory gave the Corsairs the second seed in the eight-team Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast post-season tournament that begins Saturday, March 1st.
2/23/2008 - Men's Basketball Downs PSU, 80-67, Clinches LEC Regular Season Title
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's basketball team used a 16-3 run early in the second half to take command and went on to an 80-67 victory over visiting Plymouth State in the second game of a Little East Conference doubleheader at the Tripp Athletic Center Saturday afternoon. The victory allowed the Corsairs to claim their 13th regular season championship under Head Coach Brian Baptiste, and first since the 2000-2001 season, when they won both the regular season championship and conference tournament, earned a first round bye in the NCAA Tournament, earned a first round bye and then defeated Salem State before losing to Carthage in the round of 16.
2/23/2008 - Women's Basketball Falls to Plymouth State, 85-78
Visiting Plymouth State outscored the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's basketball team, 23-8 during the final 5:04, and went on to defeat the Corsairs, 85-78, in the first game of a  Little East Conference doubleheader at the Tripp Athletic Center Saturday afternoon.

Senior Jon Garcia (Stoneham, MA/MA/Stoneham HS) barely missed the meet record, and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's track and field team finished 14th in a 24-team field at the New England Division III Championships at Tufts' Gantcher Family Sports and Convocation Center Saturday.

With the victory, the Corsairs remained the only undefeated team in the NCAA's Division III, and one of four NCAA teams overall.

Both teams finished fourth in an eight-team field. The Corsair women had 55 points, as host Southern Maine finished first with 194.5 points. The men scored 77 points, and Bates won the men's meet with 174 points.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth s track and field team acquitted themselves well at the Coast Guard Winter Invitational, at the Roland Hall Field House Saturday. The women finished third in a five-team field with 100 points. Westfield State was first with 156 points. The men were sixth of the six teams competing with 37 points. 12/19/2007 - Hockey Team Set for Stretch Run Next Semester
In each of the last two seasons, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's hockey team has gone where they've never gone before. This year, the Corsairs are trying to win the championship in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast and return to the NCAA Division III Playoffs for the third consecutive season, while replacing almost all of the forwards and a top defenseman who played key roles in their ascension in the last two seasons.
