Practical Nursing Certificate

Nursing Pics 2013 027 The certificate program in Practical Nursing is designed to prepare beginning practitioners for a career as a Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) with the knowledge and skills to care for clients of all age groups and function as contributing members of the health care team in a variety of health service facilities. At the successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) leading to licensure as a practical nurse. It is a three semester program leading to a certificate in practical nursing. The Practical Nursing program has full approval by the Virginia State Board of Nursing. Linda Pruitt, R.N., B.S.N., M.S.H.A., is an Associate Professor of Nursing and Program Director, and has had a variety of clinical and managerial experiences in nursing.
